Harburn Village Hall - SWRI 2019 April/May

CRAFT EVENINGS AND SWRI PARTY

CRAFT EVENING MAY 2019

Our craft evening on Monday 6th May was a fun evening.  Helen Bissett showed us how to make little dogs using hobby chenille (aka pipe cleaners).  Our two young members really enjoyed making several little items.
Helen MacDonald brought along all the pottery pieces previously made, following the second firing.

There will be one more craft evening before we break for the summer, on Monday 3rd June, 7-9 pm in Harburn village hall.

CRAFT EVENING APRIL 2019

On Monday 1st April, the craft class met in Harburn village hall for the next stage of our 'pottery class', Helen MacDonald brought back all the pieces made at the previous class having been fired, so that we could paint on the slip and/or glaze.  Helen took home all the pieces again at the end of the evening to get them fired again.  Helen will bring them back for the next meeting on Monday 6th May.

HARBURN SWRI PARTY 2019

On Monday 25th March, Harburn SWRI held a very successful afternoon tea in Harburn village hall, welcoming visitors from local institutes, our 'Rural' craft class, as well as Leith SWI, who brought with them the Lambie Rose Bowl.  (Harburn and Leith institutes were joint winners at the last Federation Show).

A delicious tea co-ordinated by Evelyn Paterson was served, followed by readings of favourite poems by Betty Idle, Juliet Boulting, and Sandra Dobson.

A lovely way to spend a winter afternoon.
